DOUBLE STAMPED J. HARRIS & CO., BOSTON FULL BODIED COPPER HORSE WEATHERVANE. Last quarter 19th century. This large full bodied example retaining original gilded surfaces with verdigris rendered with a zinc head. Clearly stamped on proper left side of weathervane “J. HARRIS & SON/BOSTON”. The second stamp lightly impressed on the proper right side of body partially visible beneath the gilded surface. Offered with a museum stand. SIZE: 25″ h (to stand) x 36″ l. CONDITION: Very good overall. Seams intact. No noted damages. Surfaces appear original with original gilding and some verdigris. 9-22043 (8,000-12,000)
