UNSIGNED (American, First half of the 19th Century) PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN WITH LACE BONNET. Oil on canvas half portrait of a woman wearing a black dress with fancy lace collar tied with a flower bow. She has black hair with curled sides and she wears a large flower decorated white lace bonnet with blue ribbon tied under her chin in a bow. A grain painted chair crest can be seen beyond her lace and her left hand is pointing, wearing two rings. Appears to have some pencil writing at bottom back of canvas which is illegible. Housed in a gold molded wood frame. SIZE: 25-3/4″ x 20-1/2″. CONDITION: Craquelure, inpainting mostly to frame edge. Otherwise good. 9-22423 (4,000-8,000)
