ERIC SLOAN (American, 1905-1985) “TUCKERMANS RAVINE”. Outstanding oil on masonite winter skiing scene shows the mountain edge filled with snow forming a skiing bowl. Two skiers are seen in foreground while 20 others are seen skiing and hiking the snow field. Signed lower right and titled lower left. Also signed on reverse with address. Housed in what appears to be its original frame with white liner and having a brass plague inscribed, “Tuckerman’s Ravine by Eric Sloane, J.P. Hunt Collection”. Mr. Hunt was a real estate developer from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Tuckerman’s Ravine is a popular destination located on Mt. Washington, New Hampshire.
