FINE PENNSYLVANIA CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY BALL & CLAW FOOT DINING TABLE. 4th quarter 18th cent., probably Philadelphia. The rectangular top with deep hinged leaves projecting above the arched and scalloped apron raised on molded and angular cabriole legs terminating in finely carved ball and claw feet. Two legs hinged and swiveling for leaf support. SIZE: 29″ h x 44″ d x 20-3/4″ w; open: 64″ w. PROVENANCE: By descent through the family. CONDITION: Table retains original clean surfaces with good color and patina with minor old restoration to knee of one leg. Restoration of foot seams retaining original elements.
