PENNSYLVANIA CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY CORNER CHAIR. Last quarter 18th century. The stepped pillow crest joined to the curved medial arm continuing to paddle grips joined to baluster and ring turned stiles alternating with vasiform splats, joined to the square seat rail fitted with a slip seat. The rails with deep arches. Raised on square chamfered legs, joined by an X-form stretcher. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h of back x 31-3/4″ w overall x 17″ h of seat. CONDITION: The chair retains old original surfaces with dark brown patina, somewhat dry. The seat rail strengthened with L-brackets, the frame augmented with molded brackets for seat frame. 9-97541 (2,000-4,000)
