TWO ABALONE INLAID CARVED SIDE CHAIRS. Late 19th, early 20th century, Middle East Region. The two carved hardwood chairs, similar in design. Each with scrolling crest inlaid with abalone rosettes joined to curved splats carved with scrolling vinery joined to the multiple planked seat fastened with metal rods and turned caps above the folding curule form trestle base with scrolled feet. The seats with multiple abalone inlaid rosettes. SIZE: Backs: 35-1/2″ h. Seats: 18″ h. CONDITION: Chairs retain old original surfaces, normal areas of wear commensurate with age.
