SAGEMONO. Japan, 19th Century. Three compartment inro of wood inlaid with a design of Sennin and peaches in horn, amber, bone and mother of pearl. A lacquered ajime. The ivory netsuke of a woman and child selling clams (signed beneath base). SIZE: Sagemono 3-1/2″l; ajime 1/2″ dia; netsuke 1″h. CONDITION: Very good overall with nice patina. Some wear to gilding on ajime. 9-23665 (300-500)
