AMERICAN ROCOCO REVIVAL CARVED MAHOGANY PARLOR SUITE. First quarter 20th century. Comprised of a settee and two armchairs, all covered in a burgundy-and-floral velvet upholstery, each molded serpentine crest rail with outscrolled ears, acanthus-carved, centering a scrolled carved crest, continuing to shaped molded arms on conforming supports, each carved with leaftips, centering a rectangular back and floral seat cushions. The carved scrolled legs with conforming upturned feet centering a carved bowed seat rail. SIZE: Settee: 79″ l. x 38-1/2″ h. Armchairs: 48″ h. and 38″ h. CONDITION: Very fine overall with crisp carving, original finish, and original upholstery with acceptable wear, the frames heavy and sturdy. A durable set of high quality. 9-92971 (2,000-3,000)
