FOUR PRESIDENTIAL SIGNED DOCUMENTS. 1) Theodore Roosevelt PostMaster appointment at Hinsdale, New Hampshire for Adelia M. Barrows, dated February 3, 1905. Signed February 24, 1905, Theodore Roosevelt. 2) Andrew Johnson appointment document for Russell Glover for Third Lieutenant in the Revenue Cutter Service of the United States. Signed Andrew Johnson as President and Hugh McCullugh, Secretary of the Treasury. Dated June 27th, 1865. 3) Rutherford B. Hayes appointment for Captain to Russell Glover. Signed as President. Dated March 25th, 1878. 4) Ulysses S. Grant appointing Russell Glover as First Lieutenant in the Revenue Service of the United States. Signed as President. Also signed George Boutell, Secretary of Treasury. Dated April 10th, 1871. NOTE: Russell Glover was born in Calais, Maine October 12th, 1841. At 17 years old he went to sea in a Merchant Service until 1864 when he was commissioned a Lieutenant in the US Revenue Cutter Service where he was in active service for 39 years and promoted to Captain. Under his 9 years as Superintendent of Construction, he supervised 23 life saving stations, many on the Great Lakes. He retired in 1903 and came home to Harrington, Maine. CONDITION: 1) Some creases and one small hole in margin. 2) Losses and tears, as found. 3) Some losses and small tears at edges.
