RARE PAIR OF CHINESE STORAGE JARS WITH COVERS. Mid 18th Century. Made for the domestic market and decorated overall in Canton underglaze blue of pastoral tree landscapes, the lids similarly decorated. Each container of rectangular form with a rectangular decorated panel within a zigzag border. Each with a square conforming lip. The style of painting on these storage jars shows influence of the “Mustard Seed Garden”, a series of books teaching the Chinese painters the desired for results expected within the Ching Dynasty. SIZE: 15-1/2″ h x 8-3/4″ l x 3-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Glaze in very fine condition overall, base rim of each with minor chips. No damages or restorations noted. 9-97661 (10,000-15,000)
