HALLOWEEN VEGETABLE MAN CLIMBING ON OVERSIZED TURNIP CANDY CONTAINER. Interesting that most papier-mache Halloween candy containers were produced in Germany, but strictly for the American market as this was an American holiday only. The absurdity of this candy container borders on comical. It consists of a pumpkin headed fellow with squash-type legs and a gourd body climbing up a turnip. Candy container is underneath and still retains original cardboard closure. Paint is completely original without touch-ups or repairs. SIZE: Approximately 5-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus, some flaking as evident in photo. 1-9796 (1,250-2,250) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2009 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
