JULES STEINER (BEBE PREMIER PAS). All original Steiner child sold by the Au Nain Bleu boutique in Paris with the hat having the original stitched label. The doll is semi-mechanical in the sense that it has a wind-up key in the torso and when wound the legs move back and forth resembling a child first learning to walk. The head is incised “A-15” and also has a red stamp with the toy shop “Au Nain Bleu”. She has blue glass sleep eyes with painted lower lashes and upper silk lashes, slightly open mouth with six porcelain upper teeth and is on the original body with the original finish and white painted fingernails which is typical of dolls sold by this particular retailer. Dress consists of a pink silk overlay with fancy lace, nice white leather shoes and original human hair wig with long curls covering the original Steiner cardboard pate. SIZE: 24″ (61cm). CONDITION: Excellent with tiny bit of paint loss on a few fingers. 1-11755 (3,000-5,000)
