Chromolithograph shows two egrets, one whitish standing on marshy edge, the other being the male with blue body and red neck & head. Center margin title. Below image on bottom left “Drawn from nature by J J Audubon, F.R.S. F.L.S.”. Below bottom right “Chromolithy by J. Bien, New York, 1860″. Housed in a simple wood frame with glass front. SIZE: Overall: 26″ x 38-1/4″. Image: 23″ x 35-1/4”. PROVENANCE: Descended through the family of Shepherd Brooks, Boston, MA. & Medford, MA. CONDITION: Examined out of frame, no tears, light water stains to bottom margin edge, lightly toned. Not laid down. 9-22186 (2,500-4,000)
