UNSIGNED (British, 18th Century) PORTRAIT OF SIR THOMAS STANLEY. Oil on canvas oval portrait shows a man with long curly white hair wearing a red coat with white scarf. A blue and white coat of arms is on the left. Housed in a decorative old but not period frame with gold liner having an oval window. The canvas is mounted to a rectangular stretcher and has a typed label identifying the sitter. The frame has a Society of Art Portland, Maine exhibition label which is illegible. SIZE: 30″ x 25″.
