SCHOENHUT CLOCKWORK ANIMATED PICTURE. Early 20th Century clockwork toy showing a bespectacled elderly gentleman swatting or should we say attempting to swat a mouse running out of the cabinet and jumping up on the windowsill. Through a series of wires and cams, the gentleman opens his mouth in surprise and raises his arm waiting for the mouse to appear and swat at him once again. All contained within a gilded gesso frame and marked on picture facade as well as back door. Original directions contained on backdoor also. SIZE: Approx. 14″ x 11″. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus. Some minor damage to fanciful frame in upper right corner. Backdoor is intact, however upper door guide is missing. 1-9604 (300-500)
