PAIR OF CHIPPENDALE WALNUT SIDE CHAIRS. The matched pair having square front legs with chamfered inside corner. A dovetailed H-stretcher, back curving back legs, rush seats. Nicely pierce carved curving backsplats with carved shaped eared crest. The rush seats held in place with applied top molding and rosehead nail fastened bottom supports. SIZE: 37″ h x 17-1/2″ seat h a 21″ seat w x 15-1/4″ seat d. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Joan B. Hanson, Fair Haven, N.J. CONDITION: Very good, two small losses to top chair seat molded edge, two very minor cracks in backsplat. 9-95892 (500-1,000)
