INLAID ROUNDABOUT ARMCHAIR. First third, 20th century, Middle East Region. The curved back terminating in round hand grips with bands of abalone, bone, and ebony diamond and rosette inlays on turned supports centering conforming panels of spool-and baluster-turned trellis work centering a trapezoidal over-upholstered seat in burgundy velvet. The front legs inlaid with bands of abalone and bone above the arched skirt flanked by spool-and baluster-turned fret work. The cylindrical frontal legs with ring turned ankles. SIZE: Back: 28″ h. Seat: 19″ h. Width: 26-1/2″ CONDITION: With original polished surfaces, small stress crack to rear of back rail. Otherwise very good. 9-29736 (400-600)
