GILDED FULL BODIED COPPER HORSE AND SULKY WEATHERVANE. Late 19th century, American. This example of a running horse with zinc head and ears and sheet metal mane and harness, the rider depicted with outstretched arms and whip seated on a sheet copper sulky. SIZE: Vane: 17″ h x 35-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Retains original gilded surfaces with verdigris patina. A minor seam split on proper left foreleg of horse, minor 1/2″ seam split alongside mane. Otherwise very good with no other damages or restoration noted. This weathervane is offered with stand. 9-97515 (3,000-5,000)
