EARLIEST PERIOD JUMEAU BEBE. Stunning pale bisque child with blue threaded paperweight eyes, mauve shading on upper eyelids, closed mouth, pierced ears on early wood and composition jointed body. No markings found on either head or body, however this face is obviously one of the so-called early “Portrait Jumeau” bebes. She wears an antique pale green silk dress with black silk waistband and fine lace collar, antique red leather boots and an antique, but later blond mohair wig which has been glued over the remnants of the original skin wig base. SIZE: 13″ (33cm). CONDITION: There is a faint old hairline on the upper forehead and the lower legs of the body; although antique are that from a German doll, but the remainder of the body parts are original to the head. 1-11630 (2,500-3,500)
