24-1/2″ BRU BEBE. This 1890s doll has head incised “BRU Jne R 11”. The original body is also stamped “BEBE BRU No 11”. She has a closed mouth with the hint of a molded tongue, brown fixed paperweight eyes, painted upper and lower lashes with remnants of original silk upper lashes as well. The original body is fully articulated and bears the original finish. She has been redressed in a brown taffeta knee-length dress with lace trim and cloth buttons and wear newer white leather shoes and a replaced brown mohair wig over the original cork pate. SIZE: 24-1/2″ (62cm). CONDITION: Excellent, slight paint wear to hands. 1-9298 (4,000-6,000)
