PRIMITIVE INTERIOR SCENE WITH MAN, WOMAN AND CAT IN THE STYLE OF JOSEPH H. DAVIS. Late 19th/early 20th century. Watercolor on light cardboard, interior scene shows a man and woman seated in similar scroll-backed chairs and dressed in fine black clothes. The man having a black suit and seated in front of a smoke decorated Sheraton table with open bible, basket of fruit and top hat. The woman in black dress with white bonnet with small red open book in lap. Below the table is a seated cat and above the table a painting of a mill with leaf garland surrounding. Housed in an antique ogee frame. SIZE: 9 3/4″ x 14″ CONDITION: Some stain to bottom edge and browning, otherwise very good. 97754 (2,000-4,000)
