MARGARET BOURKE-WHITE (American, 1904-1971) TWO GENERATIONS. Vintage, unmouted, black bordered photograph, circa 1936, shows a man in bib jeans holding an infant in his arms. Unmarked back. At this time Margaret was in Georgia with Erskine Caldwell gathering photographs for their book “You Have Seen Their Faces”. This family grouping in a slightly different pose was used as the front cover of this book. We have been unable to find another image of this photograph published. SIZE: Photograph: 14″ x 11″. PROVENANCE: Erskine Caldwell’s wife (Mt. Vernon, Maine); to our consignor’s father through descent. CONDITION: Some creases in top right and bottom left corner.
