CLOCKWORK “RED BIRD” TRIKE LOCOMOTIVE ENGINE BY HULL & STAFFORD. Who knows what the toy makers were thinking when they created this toy as it does not conform to the normal appearance of a typical locomotive of this or any other period? The absurd artistic license of this toy in its design sets it apart from other locos and gives it more of a folk art quality. Clockwork mechanism is contained within the boiler, a combination of tin and wood, which is heavily stenciled and hand painted with trim. SIZE: 9-1/2″ l.
