TUCK COMB WOODEN & PAPIER MACHE MILLINER’S DOLLS. 1) Tuck Comb circa 1820s is on an articulated wooden body and wearing original cotton floral print dress with white undergarments. An elaborate hairdo with earring rings intact, however earrings are missing. Paper label sewn to front of dress “Jenie Z Jose…” most likely one of the previous owners. 2) Fine early papier mache with an elaborate hairdo on a Milliner style body with an original cotton print dress and paper label “Elizabeth Davis Roxbury 1824″ most likely indicating the original owner and time period of this doll. SIZE: Approx. 9″ and 8-1/2” respectively. CONDITION: Tuck Comb has partial missing foot, striped paint loss to left side of head, and colored chip on back of head. Papier mache doll has some crazing and crack on right side of head protruding through ear. Left leg appears to be somewhat loose with some leaking sawdust.
