DON STONE (American, 1929-) “ON THE ROCKS”. Outstanding large watercolor of coastal New England scene shows a two mast fishing trawler in rough shoreline waves floundering, but being tethered to the shoreline by two men. A single figure is on the bow and the skies are dark and stormy. Signed lower right. Housed in what is probably its original gray weathered wood frame with linen and gold liner, with anti-glare glass. One of Stone’s finest works. SIZE: 20-1/4″ x 28-1/2″ sight size.
