CARVED AND POLYCHROME PAINTED FIGURE OF A VIKING. Late 19th/Early 20th century. Carved from the solid the bearded figure with winged helmet looking skyward wrapped in a blue cloak over a mail vest. Hilt of a sword in his right hand. Figure is accompanied by a later molded stand. SIZE: 46″ h. Plinth 11″ h x 23″ w x 16-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine Texas Estate. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Painted surfaces intact, some damages proper left side of cloak. 9-22952 (1,000-2,000)
