HORSE WITH TRAINER MOUNTED ON TIN CLOCKWORK BASE ATTRIBUTED TO FALLOWS. A true rarity as well as unique, this unusual toy has a small pivoted front wheel pilot hidden from view when looking down upon the toy. The two larger exterior wheels are attached to the clockwork mechanism and when wound, the toy could propel forward or in a circle to the amusement of the small child. The trainer with a large training rod in hand is directing the mare. To the best of our knowledge there are only two, maybe three of this particular toy in existence. SIZE: 8-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Overall paint condition very good plus. Trainer has an old aged repair, reattaching right foot to base. 1-10166 (3,500-6,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2010 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
