CARL SPRINCHORN (American, 1887-1971) “HUNTER AND DEER”. Unsigned oil on canvas scene shows a hunter taking aim at a stag deer who is leaping away from the hunter. The foreground has two large trees in red foliage and the background of trees with yellow foliage and evergreens. Housed in a good carved wood frame with white liner having a label from “The House of Heydenryk, New York”. The stretcher has an Estate stamp for Carl Sprinchorn, also a red decal label with title and artist name. The frame has several exhibition labels, one from Bates College Museum of Arts and one from O’Farrell Gallery, Brunswick, Maine. SIZE: 30″ x 24″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94218 (35,000-45,000)
