HORSE-DRAWN “PURE MILK” CART WITH MILK MAN BY HULL & STAFFORD. An exceptional and exceedingly rare American tin toy in as found, untouched condition. As pictured in Barney Barenholtz’s American Antique Toys on page 256, referring to the description it declares: “This two-wheeled red cart, with the words ‘PURE MILK’ stenciled in gold, is the most realistic in that the two milk cans are removable, adding to the play value and to the stature of the child playing with it. The cans are simply cylindrical tubes with openings in the top which look remarkably as if they were exchangeable with smokestacks for Hull & Stafford trains.” Unique to this toy is the pin mounting for the driver’s seat. SIZE: 9-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Horse is in exceptional original condition. Cart has a paint loss/flaking to right side. Otherwise, very good plus condition. 1-10010 (3,000-4,000)<%=cAR(conidsalenum,z)%>
