SECOND SERIES PORTRAIT JUMEAU. Attractive doll with unusual expression with head incised “7” on original eight ball joint wood and composition body with straight wrists and stamped in blue “Jumeau Medaille D’or Paris”. She has large brown paperweight eyes, closed mouth with slight space between the lips and mauve shading on upper eyelids. The antique costume is a sleeveless cotton print dress which ties in back with a large bow; shoes are antique white leather with a “5” impressed on the soles and the wig is antique blond mohair over the original cork pate. In addition she has a newer red felt coat with embroidered flowers and matching hat. SIZE: 15-1/2″ (39cm). CONDITION: Slight old faint hairline on top center of forehead; few minor rubs on left cheek and some general light overpaint to most of body with more to the lower arms. Although the head is attached to the body by the original coil spring, the head does not seem to want to turn in the socket. 1-11628 (4,000-5,000)
