“BICO BUS TO JOYVILLE” DOUBLE DECKER BUS. Of German manufacture, this bus appears to have been produced for the English market since the driver is on the right side and the advertising above the windows is for English products. A charming little bus with passengers on the upper level with a standing attendant. When the toy is wound and engaged, the attendant moves from front to back as if he is collecting fares. Finely lithographed, the rear staircase states “That is the way to Toyland”. SIZE: 8-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: John F. Gale Collection, Cambridge, MA. CONDITION: In very fine original condition but is a bit dusty. Appears to have had an old sticker or stamp on rear staircase with a few remaining remnants still there. 1-12408-44 (900-1,200)
