PAIR OF ARCADE MACK DUMP TRUCKS. Mack trucks in Allentown, Pennsylvania produced what is known as Bulldog Mack. Produced in the 1920s and 30s, these trucks were emulated in toy form by many various toy companies. Arcade produced this pair in miniature form and they are most realistic in nature. First is enameled in light blue with nickel plated cast iron wheels. Second truck is enameled in pea green and also has a nickel plated driver and spoked iron wheels. Both vehicles have a spring loaded dump bed feature that flips up and tailgate opens with the flip of a lever. Due to the power of the spring, many of these toys broke, but these two are both intact and free of damage. Both vehicles retain their original Arcade decals and have a small cast iron shovel in their beds. An unusual size for these vehicles as they are usually bigger or smaller. SIZE: Each is 8-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: John F. Gale Collection, Cambridge, MA. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. 1-12408-24 (650-950)
