GUSTAV STICKLEY SLANT LID DESK. Circa 1907, New York. Desk model No. 706, 1907 catalog, illustrated on page 137 in “COLLECTED WORKS OF GUSTAV STICKLEY” edited by Stephen Gray and Robert Edwards. The rectangular quartersawn oak case with hinged sloping lid and three recessed panels alternating with two panels opening to an interior fitted with an arrangement of cubbies centering a single drawer above a pen tray flanked by inkwell holders. All over a single fixed shelf joined by panel supports arched at the bottom. Neither brand or paper label present. SIZE: 44″ h. Overall width: 28-3/4″. 10-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Desk with original surfaces and hardware. Proper lower left corner of lid with stress split in need of restoration. Otherwise very good overall. 9-29754 (1,000-2,000)
