GROUPING OF 2 CAST IRON MOTORCYCLES AND CKO MOTORCYCLE. First motorcycle is enameled in red with white rubber tires and wooden hubs. The rare feature of this is its battery powered headlight. This toy is in very fine plus to near mint condition and shows little signs of ever being played with as the nickel plated light switch shows almost no wear and the tires show no flat spots. Second motorcycle is a Hubley Hillclimber motorcycle with nickel plated spoked iron wheels (very good original condition). Appropriately included in this lot is an Arcade “Hill” sign (very fine plus). CKO motorcycle is a windup and finely lithographed with a driver and passenger sitting behind him. When wound and activated, the motorcycle is propelled forward and the front wheel swivels right and left and the passenger also swivels at the hips. Both passenger and driver are in racing mode with helmets and goggles. A rare and seldom found motorcycle from the late 1940s. Marked on underside “Made in U.S. Zone Germany” and “CKO” on gas tank. SIZE: 6-1/4″ l, 5-1/2″ l and 5-3/4″ l, respectively. PROVENANCE: John F. Gale Collection, Cambridge, MA. CONDITION: As stated above. 1-12408-40 (600-900) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
