DAGHESTAN ORIENTAL RUG, EAST CAUCASUS. Circa 1900. Five aligned diamond medallions alternating blue-gray and dark jade green on a madder red field within multiple candy cane, sawtooth and polychrome flowerhead guard borders. The ivory main border with geometric latticework. SIZE: 7′ 4″ x 4′ 3″. CONDITION: Rug retains nearly full pile throughout, the foundation quite supple. Selvages and ends mostly intact.
