CLASSIC TETE JUMEAU BEBE. Bisque head stamped in red “DEPOSE. TETE JUMEAU. Bte S.G. D.G. 11”, having lovely large blue-grey paperweight eyes, pierced ears, well painted and highlighted closed mouth with slight space between the lips, multi stroke eyebrows and finely painted lashes, on the original wood and composition fully jointed body, stamped on body in blue “JUMEAU MEDAILLE D’OR PARIS”, and also bearing a paper label marked “FRANCE”. Across the torso is an original strip of leather with a screen in the back of the torso covering a non-functioning voice box. She wears a remade costume made of all antique materials and has a honey human hair replacement wig over the original cork pate. The socks are original, as are the shoes, however, both are missing the original leather soles. SIZE: 23-1/2″ (59cm). CONDITION: Head very good; body has some typical wear and hands have been repainted. Stringing is loose. 1-12651 (3,000-4,000)
