CHINESE EXPORT MUG. Qian Long Period; 4th quarter 18th Century. This lovely example applied with a blue dragon handle, the central panel is paint-decorated with a busy harbor scene surrounded by mountainous terrain flanked by magenta reserves depicting treed landscapes. Paint and gilt decorated on a terracotta and gilt background. SIZE: 5-3/8″ h. CONDITION: Tight vertical hairline from upper rim to midpoint of canister, a rim chip opposite handle and a small firing imperfection on interior of canister beside handle. Under glaze decoration is bold, clear and bright. 9-97402 (1,500-2,500)
