ANTHONY THIEME (American, 1888-1954) “WET DAY”. Fine oil on canvas harbor scene shows side by side docked fishing boats unloading and sorting large fish on a wooden dock. Seven people are seen on dock and five aboard the green and white hull fishing boat. Several seagulls are flying against a white sky. Signed lower right “A. Thieme” and titled on back of canvas. Housed in a fine gesso decorated gilt replacement frame with artist plaque with title. PROVENANCE: Rankin Estate, Annapolis, Maryland. Purchased from Kennebunkport Maritime Museum, 1989.
