*SPANISH CETME “SPORT” IMPORTED BY MARS/CHICAGO. SN S02265*. Cal. 308. This is the semi-auto version of the Spanish Cetme military rifle also known as the G-1. It is a stamped receiver gun with a metal hand guard assembly which contains an intregal bipod. The buttstock is wood and the pistol grip is plastic. These were some of the first weapons of this kind brought into the U.S. going back to the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Rifle is equipped with an orig sling. PROVENANCE: Stern Collection. CONDITION: Metal of rifle retains approx 98% of the orig finish with the wear being underneath the selector, a little bit on the cocking handle and a couple of small scratches from the sling keeper. Other than that rifle shows near new. Wooden buttstock is in excellent condition as is the rubber buttpad. Pistol grip is also unblemished.
