“SARATOGA CHIMES” BELL TOY. Manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Co. When Bob and Jackie started collecting bell toys in the early 1980s, they met Max Berry, a fellow collector. They were able to purchase this toy and the CLOWN WITH JUMPING DOG BELL TOY as well. A most popular and desirable toy amongst collectors, this toy is a mix of fantasy and whimsy. A young lad riding atop his white stallion pulls a leafed chariot topped by a rose in bloom. Examining the toy closely, one can appreciate the detailing, such as the hat on the boy, the saddle on the horse, and the intricacy of the leaves that form the chariot. Polychromed in a multitude of colors further add to the appeal of the bell toy. SIZE: 11”. CONDITIONS: Right front leg reattached/repaired with some paint restoration to horse.
