LOT OF 2 CIVIL WAR BELTS AND A PRAIRIE BELT. 1) Mills type canvas belt with 50 large diameter rifle cartridge loops, brass fittings, and a large “US” brass buckle. The belt is yellowed but sound and the buckle and brass fittings have a nice patina. 2) Plain black belt with sword hanger removed, rectangular brass “US” buckle. Also included is a black “US” marked McKeever box for large diameter cartridges. The belt is supple and clean, the box is dry with crackled edges and verdigris around the brass. The brass buckle tab is missing from the belt. 3) Dark brown belt with hook adjustment and rectangular brass “US” buckle with original tab attached. The tab end of the belt has 2 sets of inspector initials and the buckle end of the belt has a large “50” stamped on it. Also accompanied by a brown “US” McKeever box for large cartridges. Marked on the back “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL”. Additionally accompanied by a socket bayonet for trapdoor rifles with bright blade and blued socket with fine blued metal scabbard with brown frog marked “A.R. SMITH”. The belt is dry and flexed but still sound. The box is dry with crackled edges and some finish loss. The bayonet has scattered light pitting. 4-50717 JR336 (250-400)
