IRISH QUEEN ANNE REVIVAL CARVED AND INLAID ARMCHAIR. Late 19th century. Constructed of mahogany and figured veneers. The scallop-shell crest flanked by leaftips joined to the heart-shaped scrolling stiles, centering the vasiform splat with marquetry floral-filled urn. The molded arms with shepherd’s-crook hand grips centering a balloon-form slip seat within the conforming scalloped rail carved with a foliate fan, raised on frontal cabriole legs, shell-and-acanthus carved, with scrolling returns on scrolled feet carved with leaftips. SIZE: 41″ h. of back. 22-1/2″ seat w. CONDITION: With mellow brown color and soft patina, retaining old finish, with minor veneer chips and losses on stiles and seat rail.
