RARE AUSTRIAN ART NOUVEAU SHELL LAMP. Outstanding lamp features art nouveau maiden supporting a natural shell shade on her back. The maiden appears to be silver plated and holds an iridescent Loetz type art glass ball in one hand. The shell shade is set with seven art glass jewels, three green and four opalescent. The lamp attributed to Gustav Gerchner rests on a black marble base. SIZE: 22 1/2″ tall. CONDITION: Small crack at the ankle of the maiden, which appears to have been done in the making. 5-66569 (2,200-2,700)
