FREDERIC AUGUSTE BARTHOLDI (French, 1834-1904) STATUE OF LIBERTY. Spelter figure of the Statue of Liberty holding a tablet marked “4th July 1776”. The arm is upstretched, holding a torch which has a threaded top with flame missing. Signed on base “Bartholdi 1875”. Also “August 1876″ with other writing that is illegible. Fitted to a turned wood plinth. SIZE: Total: 17-1/2″ h; statue is 15-1/4”. CONDITION: As noted above, some repair to crown, uneven patina, dent in base. Generally good. 9-95509 (800-1,200)
