FRANZ BERGMAN (Austrian, 1838-1894) ARAB TENT TABLE LAMP. Cold painted bronze sculpture of a tall dome top tent. The interior fitted with a seated Arab male holding chalice. He is seated atop a stepped rug interior holding a platter with water pot. The opening is draped cloth holding a shield and a staffed flag. The dome having a crescent moon finial and having four colored windows. The sides of the tent have colored panels and the piece is signed in the bottom back fringe partially “Geschutzt” and has the Bergman monogram above. Also stamped “Made in Austria” at the base of the right front tent flap. REFERENCE: Pictured on page 761, Fig. 2763 Vol. 3 in Bronzes by Berman. SIZE: 14-1/4″ h x 8-1/2″ w x 6″ d. CONDITION: Very good, in working order with strong color. The staffed flag missing its finial, is bent and is presently detachable. 9-95290 (5,000-10,000)
