LOT OF TWO EARLY GERMAN DRINKING ITEMS. 1) Small military reunion ceramic flask approx. 4-1/2” dia., flat sided in a metal carrier with screw on pewter cap. The sides are painted and fired with various scenes of soldier’s life on one side with a picture of the Kaiser in the center of an iron cross. The opposite side is a picture of the Kaiser’s residence with a unit of troops in the foreground. CONDITION: Metal band retains about 80% of its original nickel. The outer drinking cap is missing. The ceramic flask is excellent. The purple and white braided rope is frayed and worn. 2) Half liter “HR” ceramic stein model 199. Gray earthenware with center decoration of griffins and heraldic crests accompanied by a note from Les Paul identifying the stein as having been made around 1900. It is missing the pewter lid. CONDITION: Missing the lid, otherwise about excellent. 4-48379 JR456 (200-300)
