FINE PRUSSIAN CALVARY SWORD. 32” straight single fuller blade is fully etched on both sides. The king and knight’s head of Klingenthal trademark is on the right ricasso. The right side of the blade is etched with a lancer on horseback, “Ulan. Rgt. Kaiser Alex.II.V. Russland (1.Brand.) No3” and horse’s head with other military themes and scrolls. On the left side is a “crown / A / II” followed by a cavalry charge & another military stand. The hilt has a Prussian eagle cut into one side of the guard, which folds down even with the turned horn grip. The iron scabbard has a black enamel covering & a felt cover as well. The portapee has a green leather strap and a silver acorn with a red cap and a plain braided leather slide. CONDITION: Excellent overall retaining most of the blue in the etched areas & most of the nickel-plating on the hilt. Black enamel on the scabbard has possibly been redone. 4-53743 FS38 (500-1,000)
