ANTON MICHAJLOVIC LAVINSKI (Russian, 1893-1968) “NECHISTAYA” (unclean/evil). Watercolor on paper glued to board theater costume design for Vladimir Mayakovski’s “Mystere-Bouffe”. The sketch also inscribed in pencil “Rabotnitsa” (working woman) and “Nechistaya”meaning “unclean/evil”, a play on the words for the name of the character. All are in Cyrillic, signed lower right. Watercolor shows a woman in blue dress with white apron holding a broom. Unframed and unmatted. SIZE: Watercolor is 9-3/4″ x 7-1/4″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-95641 (2,000-3,000)
