UNSIGNED (Flemish or Dutch, 17th Century) LADY AND HER PARROT. Oil on zinc interior scene shows a marble alcove with a four level round birdcage that has been opened and a green parrot is being held on the right hand of a young woman who is feeding it with her left hand. A girl is holding a plate of food that the young lady is picking from. A decorative carpet is draped over the alcove. A green drape is pulled back on a nail. There is very nice detail to the lady’s dress and facial features. Remnants of an old label which is illegible on the reverse. Housed in a later 19th Century gesso decorated frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 9-3/4” x 8-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting. 9-71952 (4,000-6,000)
