2ND TYPE NAZI LUFTWAFFE SWORD. Late issue with 28-1/2” dbl edged blade marked “F & A Helbig”. Three-feather hand guard with gold swastikas on each side, blue leather wrapped handle with twisted silver wire and large round aluminum pommel cap with gold swastikas on each side. It is in a blue leather covered aluminum scabbard with original frog. CONDITION: Fine. Retains about 90% original polish with small fingerprints of light rust and scattered rust spots with scratches across the blade. The swastikas retain most of their original gold wash. Leather handle wrap in intact but shows wear on both sides. Scabbard is fine, soiled with spots of corrosion on the throat and tip with a nick or two in the leather. 4-48367 JR494 (400-600)
